It’s happening folks: According to techcrunch.com, a Canadian company has won a patent to make a space elevator (Thoth). These elevators would rise about 12 miles above sea level, and could be use to transport equipment, and even people.<\/p>\n

The first time I remember space elevators being mentioned was in a Halo book (I don’t remember exactly which one), and the idea seemed pretty cool.<\/p>\n
