In a bit of different news, Boeing (yes the airplane builder) has been granted a patent to start creating a force field-like tech to help dissimulate the impact shock waves have over an object. While it doesn’t prevent a target from being directly hit, it would help if there is an explosion nearby by absorbing some of the shock waves caused and diminishing their strength to protect its intended target.
This could be the beginning of a “Galaxy far, far away…”, or something like Halo. *wishful thinking*
